Yura on East End is a cozy, no-frills café nestled in the heart of Yorkville at 50 East End Ave. It’s the kind of spot that feels familiar and straightforward, catering mainly to locals looking for reliable quality over trendiness. The focus here is on solid bakery offerings and sandwiches, with a menu that highlights classics like the Bacon Egg and Cheese and Bagel and Lox, alongside well-made pastries like plain and chocolate croissants.

This café leans toward a slightly older crowd, which shapes the vibe and menu selection. The bread is notably soft and fresh, a detail likely appreciated by long-time neighborhood residents who favour a comforting, traditional approach to breakfast and lunch. It’s not the place for a quick grab-and-go rushed visit, but rather a more leisurely stop where the quality of baked goods and sandwiches stands out.

Yura’s coffee lineup includes thoughtful options from macchiatos to chai lattes, and cold drinks like iced cappuccinos, which makes it a pleasant spot for both warm and cooler months. However, weekend mornings can feel crowded and indoor seating limited, a clear sign of local affection but also a hint that coming midweek or earlier in the morning may offer a quieter, more relaxed experience.

Outdoor seating is understandably in demand but scarce, so those who enjoy a sidewalk seat in the fresh air might have to be patient or come during less busy hours. The staff’s friendly and efficient service keeps things moving smoothly, even on busy days.

The spot shines best for those wanting a substantial sandwich or a flaky croissant paired with a well-crafted coffee. Whether you’re a Yorkville regular or just passing through the Upper East Side, Yura on East End offers approachable, solid café fare in a setting that feels genuinely neighborhood-centric without the frills.

I’ve gone on three different occasions. Service is good. Food is tasty. Price is up there for sure. In my opinion they seem to cater to older people since they have a lot of prepared foods. Could explain why the bread is so good and soft!

Grabbed some to-go croissants (plain, chocolate and almond) and they were all very good! Will return to try their bread and other products. Would be great to have more outdoor seating - the place was a bit crowded on a weekend morning, a good indicator of how much the neighbors love the place!

A rare case where the most affordable coffee is also the best in the area.

First timer. Came back three other times. GREAT tasting coffee. TERRIFIC tasting, fresh bagels worthy of being deemed a "NYC bagel." Seriously impressed with their plain bagel with plain cream cheese. Everything smelled and looked great. Tried the 'Egg on a Roll' for $4.50 and that was really good. This is a great neighborhood coffee shop and well worth your cash.
